Yanjie UCS TTO Printers: 107mm vs 53mm Printhead — Which Fits Your Line?

Time of issue:

Same UCS platform, two printhead widths — the choice is about how much your code has to say.

The Yanjie UCS series runs one common platform: separate touchscreen controller, tool-free ribbon loading, modular printhead. The lineup splits by printhead width — 53mm and 107mm — and each serves a different packaging reality.

UCS 53mm — compact coding for small packs. The 53mm head prints 1-2 lines with ease: date, batch, expiry, and yes, a compact QR code. It suits snack pouches, candy wraps, pharmaceutical sachets, and small dairy packs. Narrow ribbon, low cost per run, tiny footprint. If your film is narrow and the message is short, this is the efficient choice.

UCS 107mm — the wide-format game changer. The 107mm printhead's real advantage isn't just bigger text — it's the ability to print full content blocks on demand: ingredients lists, product info, logos, multi-line text, plus date, batch, and serial codes, all in one pass. That changes the economics of flexible packaging. Instead of pre-printing ingredients on film — plate charges, pre-printed film inventory, and re-printing every time a formulation changes — you run plain film and print the label content live at line speed. Recipe change? Update the job file, not the film order. For snack, pet food, and bakery lines that rotate SKUs, the 107mm head pays for itself fast by eliminating pre-print waste and lead time.

Match the head to the message. If a date is all it needs, take the 53mm. If the pack has to carry an ingredients block or rotate label content without re-ordering film, the 107mm is the one. Send us your film width and what the label has to contain — we'll spec the right UCS.
